Basketball is and always will be in the depths of my heart and soul. It ultimately proved to be the sport that motivated and inspired me to succeed, stay focused, and remain determined to achieve my goals. However, I do understand that basketball may not be the vehicle which inspires and drives all individuals to achieve their goals in life. The one thing I am certain of is that everyone needs to understand the value of education in pursuing their dreams. In addition, they have to make certain that they are surrounded by individuals who can share their passions, provide support and direction, teach them the life skills necessary to be successful on and off the playing field, and make a positive contribution to our society.

Rising Stars is moving in a new direction in the 21st century. Although basketball is the current vehicle used to teach children leadership skills, accountability, and responsibility - it is our fervent hope that we will move beyond basketball and become an organization that helps any child achieve their dreams no matter what their passion is in life.
